Rasheeda S. Liberty

International Grand Basileus

Rasheeda Liberty wears many hats, including sorority leader, corporate executive, wife, and mother. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was taught to believe that there were no limits or boundaries placed on her life. She attended Marquette University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, attended law school and earned an MBA. She has been trained for high performing business leadership at both the London Business School and Alpine University via McKinsey Consultants.

Professionally, Rasheeda Liberty has worked in the areas of banking, financial services, corporate law, insurance, media, heavy equipment leasing, consumer packaged goods and most recently e-commerce retail. After a great financial career and managing a $4B portfolio with Mars, Inc., the makers of several multi-billion dollar brands, i.e. M&Ms ®, Snickers®, Uncle Ben’s®, Wrigley®, PEDIGREE®, and Cesar®, Liberty transferred her skillset to the largest e-commerce retailer in the world, Amazon. She made history by being the first African-American female to be named Senior Finance Leader for North America Customer Fulfillment. As the leader of the Central Region, she fulfills customer promise with nearly 10,000 associates, and 500 leaders. Her profession and various companies have always been supportive of her passion and commitment to both community and corporate citizenship.

Rasheeda Liberty values the quote – “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” As a guiding principle, she believes in service which she fulfills through many outlets, but with the largest impact being her consistent membership of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., where she proudly serves as the International Vice President. Professionally, she is an advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion for people of color, women and the value of finance partnership. Rasheeda prides herself on being an active member of New Light Christian Church in Houston, a wife to Mr. Gregory Liberty, and a mother to both Nailah and Malik. Creating balance is the key to her success as a corporate professional, a sorority leader, community volunteer, church member, mother and wife.

Meet Our

International Board

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was organized on November 12, 1922, in Indianapolis, Indiana, by seven young educators: Mary Lou Allison Gardner Little, Dorothy Hanley Whiteside, Vivian Irene White Marbury, Nannie Mae Gahn Johnson, Hattie Mae Annette Dulin Redford, Bessie Mae Downey Rhoades Martin and Cubena McClure. The group became an incorporated national collegiate sorority on December 30, 1929, when a charter was granted to Alpha chapter at Butler University. Since its inception, the dynamic women of Sigma Gamma Rho have built and sustained a well-known and well-respected reputation for leading positive change to uplift communities through sisterhood, leadership, and service. The Board of Directors is comprised of the National Officers, Founders, and the Regional Syntaktes, Undergraduate Chapter Coordinator, and Youth Services Coordinator of each region. Past Grand Basilei serve on the board in an honorary capacity.
